Cycling tourism is rapidly growing worldwide, and Osijek-Baranja County, with nearly 240 kilometres of cycling tracks, is more than ready to accommodate this trend. There is an ever-growing number of active vacation aficionados who wish to experience the beauty of Slavonia and Baranja on two wheels.
The most significant cycle routes that go through Slavonia and Baranja are two EuroVelo routes: the Danube route, part of the route EuroVelo 6 – Atlantic – Black Sea and corridors 9 and 1 of the main Croatian cycling tourism routes; the Drava route, part of the route EuroVelo 13 – Iron Curtain Trail and corridor 1 of the main Croatian cycling tourism routes; and the Pannonian Peace Trail route, established through the cooperation of Osijek and Sombor.
The Danube, Drava and Pannonian Peace Trail routes attract increasing numbers of foreign visitors, who can also choose from the numerous accommodation options, especially in Baranja, with special offers for cyclists – they are branded as “Bike & Bed” accommodation.
There are also numerous events that connect active vacations with culture, food and wine. Among the many different types of tourism, Osijek-Baranja County places great emphasis precisely on cycling tourism.
