The spectacular cycling event CRO Race took place this year from September 27 to October 2 and turned Croatia for the seventh time into a sports arena whose shots of nature and culture broadcasted around the world. Thus, the biggest cycling stars such as Marco Cavendish, Vincenzo Nibali, Giacomo Nizzolo, Adam Yates and others have competed at CRO Race so far and this year as many as six WorldTeam teams from a total of twenty teams took part in the CRO Race. Cycling fans could enjoy the performance of top cyclists who rode a route over 1,000 kilometers long in six stages across Croatia, live or via television broadcast.
Organisers of CRO Race chooses cities or famous, gorgeous locations such as national parks and nature parks all over Croatia for start or finish line destinations and passing through some of the most beautiful parts of Croatia provides unforgettable experiences for cyclists and audience. The importance of the cycling event for tourism, economy and promotion was once again recognized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian Tourist Board, the City of Zagreb and HEP, which have supported the project from the very beginning. The Ministry of the Interior, the Directorate of Police, the Croatian Olympic Committee, the Croatian Cycling Association and many other partners and sponsors are included as well.
In addition to professional cycling, CRO Race has a number of accompanying activities. Thus, Kids CRO Race, event for the youngest athletes was held for the third time. At finish lines at stages in seven cities throughout Croatia - Osijek, Ludbreg, Zadar, Primošten, Crikvenica, Labin and Zagreb, children had opportunity to try out their cycling skills and compete in virtual trainers.
